Leveling the Playing Field for Student Athletes with Asthma
The Christopher D. Redding Youth Asthma Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, was founded in 2013 by Helen and Michael Redding, Sr. in memory of their son, Christopher D. Redding. Christopher was a 3-sport student athlete who died of exercise-induced asthma exacerbation in 2003 at the age of 18 years. The Foundation provides asthma management education with a focus on student-athletes impacted by asthma, families and athletic personnel. Screenings, recreational opportunities, and scholarships are provided for student-athletes impacted by asthma.
